In the month of April, Oak Tree Intermediaries hosted another instalment of the Oak Tree Annual Fishing Challenge. We were accompanied by some of our valued clients and we headed to the calm waters of Lake Jozini in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Lake Jozini is probably the best Tiger fishing destination in South Africa.
It is a challenge at the best of times trying to land a tiger fish but this year all 8 fishermen were privileged enough to bring one on board. The setting in Jozini is serene as it is nestled in a game reserve surrounded by a spectacular mountain range.
The Diggers U/13 team took part in the King Edward VII School (KES) Easter Rugby Festival.
They were proudly kitted in Rugby Jerseys sponsored by Oaktree Intermediaries, in which they went on to perform with pride.
Diggers U/13s took on some of the best school boy teams in Gauteng and the country and were able to return some fair results, listed below.
As our B-BBEE Enterprise Development donation for this year, we decided to support Alpheus Maffa again. Alpheus is our office block's security guard and holds this position full time. Last year he presented us with a proposal detailing his part-time business as a sole proprietor t/a MSA Copy Centre in Diepsloot. We agreed to help him and bought him an Epson printer and cartridges so that he could print better quality business cards, invitations & pamphlets to name a few.
Another year has come and gone and with it brings the end to the Oak Tree Annual Fishing Classic , this years’ event was held at the picturesque Ngwenya Lodge on Msuna Island, Zimbabwe - on the mighty Zambezi River, home to the monster tiger fish. This year, the tournament was held over two days, and there were four teams consisting of 2 people - namely Team Oak Tree, Team African Rand, Team Guardrisk /African Motor Underwriting Managers and Team PLUM.
